In the last weekend in October, Orono High School’s fall musical played to three sold-out audiences! For the 36 members of our cast and crew, RENT was both a musical and learning experience. Our students explored the issues of homelessness, addiction, identity, and HIV/AIDS that are present in the show. This year Orono High School was lucky enough to partner with a non-profit organization in Bangor- Health Equity Alliance (HEAL) to educate the entire cast and crew about the realities of living with HIV/AIDS in Maine. HEAL was so instrumental in the success of the show, that the cast and crew were inspired to donate $1,000 of the proceeds to help ensure the continued success of HEAL’s awesome work. The show closed to a standing ovation and a Gala event at the Family Dog! Students are already looking forward to OHS’ next dramatic production!
